slopers are the start to all great pattern designs
With the right base in place, you can create new patterns and manipulate them before the sewing begins.
The art of pattern making
There are two ways that couture designers create patterns – either using flat pattern design techniques, or through draping on a dress form.
Typically, having a customized dress form for every imaginable scenario is virtually impossible for the average designer. Flat pattern design starts by using a “sloper”, which is manipulated to the desired design. For example, a “skirt sloper” would be the starting point of any skirt design, taking the standard size closest to the client’s measurements and manipulating it to get the the final product, the pattern. From there, the designer would need to adjust it on the actual client to ensure the perfect fit.
This is both time-consuming and inefficient.
What Couturease does is a no-brainer.
We empower you as the designer to create a custom-fit pattern using an automatically generated custom-fit sloper in seconds. Now your designs can start with a custom-fit every time.
Couturease does not use standard figure sizes to create our slopers, or grade them to fit a specific size.
The Couturease app takes your 100% unique client measurements, then uses proprietary algorithms to generate slopers from scratch, following the same steps you would if working by hand. The only difference? Everything is automated, saving you time, energy, and hassle.
While a current, manual process like this would typically cost you hours of time, not to mention the risk of human error, you can use Couturease to generate custom slopers in minutes, leaving you with more time and freedom to get creative with patterns, design, and the actual garment-sewing process with a near-perfect couture fit.
